Which is amazing, because it’s by far the dumbest thing I’ve ever purchased. Every single car I’ve had (even the 4Runner), within the first few months, I tend to second guess my decision. For the most part, my second guesses have been true. The 4Runner I only like because I’m emotionally attached to it. The FiST I began to hate within a few months, then I tried to “fix” it, made it more fun, but then realized I had sank money into a limited platform that wasn’t the second coming that I had been led to believe. The Golf I thought, “Why did I get another hatchback?” after telling myself the next one would be an actual sports car. And we all know how that turned out.
My stupid neighbor had to sit one in his front yard, a 2004 Z06 Commemorative Edition. The same weekend, a Millennium Yellow Z06 popped up on the corner of my road for sale. These got the mind wandering, but the wheels didn’t turn soon enough. This is the first car I’ve purchased where it was actually deep down what I wanted, and it’s been that and more. It’s by far the most enjoyable car I’ve ever driven. Every single day it brings a smile to my face the moment I see it, and a shit eating grin when I turn the key. I don’t get angry at traffic as much, as just cruising is fine, and when a gap opens, being a child has never been more fun. And I am so glad I got one that wasn’t “perfect”. Mechanically it’s very sound, the previous owner had spent thousands on preventative maintenance. Cosmetically, well... It spent most of it’s life in NYC. Yes, someone purchased a Vette new to drive in NYC. This means it’s got battle scars, but that just means I don’t worry about it. That was an issue with my past two brand new cars that I’ didn’t want to have.
Anyway, to sum it up, sometimes you need to sit back and ask yourself if you really need the practical choice. Because if you don’t, you aren’t going to live forever and two door sports cars are better when you are young.

For such a poorly put together car, it's so loveable.

I’m glad you’re so happy, perhaps someone is smiling upon you -- after putting you through First World Hell with the GTI for their amusement.

Honestly, I’m glad it happened. It taught me to be a lot more assertive, and how to handle annoying situations.

If you can get past the stereotypes and the interior, it’s an absolute blast to live with.

You know what’s joyful? Driving a car that you know is faster, better handling and our brakes 99% of the cars around you and just rolling with traffic . It’s like being a shark swimming in the ocean. You could kill anything, but you choose not to right now. I get that feeling in the Evo. Sounds like a similar deal for you.

Ditto, to mostly all of it, except Cayman. However admittedly I went through a couple phases of buyer's remorse last year but that was a ton of bad luck mixed with some shitty emotional situations. Not the car's fault. Can't wait to see your Vette!

This is what I needed to hear.
When I was young, dumb, and full of... government cheddar (i.e. Navy pay) I bought tons of stupid shit. After a while it got old and I don’t miss being perpetually broke. But you know what I do miss? Fun cars and bikes. When I had a WRX and a CBR1000RR Repsol Racing Edition I was basically the king of the universe. Now I’m old and and drive a Snuze.
